Propagation dynamics of abruptly autofocusing circular Airy Gaussian vortex beams in the fractional Schrödinger equation

چکیده

We introduce axisymmetric Airy-Gaussian vortex beams in a model of an optical system based on the (2+1)-dimensional fractional Schrödinger equation (FSE), characterized by its Lévy index (LI), 1<??2. By means numerical methods, we explore propagation dynamics with vorticities from 0 to 4. The leads abrupt autofocusing, followed reversal (rebound center). It is shown that LI, relative width Airy and Gaussian factors, vorticity determine properties autofocusing dynamics, including focusing distance, radius focal light spot, peak intensity at focus. A maximum attained intermediate values close ?=1.4. Dynamics carrying pairs (split double vortices) considered too.

Pre-engineered abruptly autofocusing beams.

We introduce a new family of (2+1)D light beams with pre-engineered abruptly autofocusing properties. These beams have a circularly symmetric input profile that develops outward of a dark disk and oscillates radially as a sublinear-chirp signal, creating a series of concentric intensity rings with gradually decreasing width. The light rays involved in this process form a caustic surface of revo...

Diffraction-free beams in fractional Schrödinger equation

We investigate the propagation of one-dimensional and two-dimensional (1D, 2D) Gaussian beams in the fractional Schrödinger equation (FSE) without a potential, analytically and numerically. Without chirp, a 1D Gaussian beam splits into two nondiffracting Gaussian beams during propagation, while a 2D Gaussian beam undergoes conical diffraction. When a Gaussian beam carries linear chirp, the 1D b...

Observation of abruptly autofocusing waves.

We report on the experimental observation of abruptly autofocusing waves. This interesting family of wave packets has been realized by using a radially symmetric Airy intensity distribution. As demonstrated in our experiments, these waves can exhibit unusual features, such as the ability to autofocus by following a parabolic trajectory toward their focus.

Trapping and guiding microparticles with morphing autofocusing Airy beams.

We observe optical trapping and manipulation of dielectric microparticles using autofocusing radially symmetric Airy beams. This is accomplished by exploiting either the inward or outward transverse acceleration associated with their chirped wavefronts. We experimentally demonstrate, for the first time to our knowledge, that such Airy beams morph into nondiffracting Bessel beams in their far-fi...
